ANNA - Nancy Gunn, 83, of Anna passed away Thursday, Oct. 9, 2025, at home.
She was born July 1, 1942, in Anna to John G. and Ruby (Menees) Hubbs.
She was united in marriage to W. Leon Gunn on June 5, 1976. He preceded her in death Oct. 11, 2024.
Nancy was a member of the First Evangelical Presbyterian Church of Anna, where she was active in the Women's Association, Women's Ministries, Vacation Bible School and as a Sunday school teacher. She was also a member of Zeta Psi Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi, Union County Hospital Auxiliary, a life member of Stinson Memorial Library and a member of PAST.
She was a 1960 graduate of Anna-Jonesboro Community High School and received a Bachelor of Science in elementary education from Southern Illinois University Carbondale in 1964 and a Master of Science in 1968. She taught third grade at Lincoln Elementary School for 12 years and later worked in the office at Helena Cotton Oil Co. Inc. in Helena, Arkansas.
She is survived by her cousin, Mary Ann Bowen; eight nieces and nephews, Barbara Throgmorton, Jackie Moore, Jerry Gunn, Carol Eskew, Donna Washam, Michael Phegley, Meredith Ann Kraushar and Karen Lucarelli; great- and great-great-nieces and -nephews; and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; brother, Jack Hubbs; grandparents, Orley and Leatha Menees and W.W. and Annie Belle Hubbs; and cousins, Bill Goddard, Ron Hubbs, Peggy Goddard Esmond, and Jack Goddard.
Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 14, at Crain Funeral Home in Anna-Jonesboro, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 15, at the First Evangelical Presbyterian Church of Anna. Funeral services for Nancy Muriel Gunn will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 15, in First Evangelical Presbyterian Church of Anna, with interment to follow at Anna City Cemetery. The Rev. Mark Kirk will officiate.
Memorial donations may be made to the First Evangelical Presbyterian Church of Anna and will be accepted at the funeral home.
