Not sure what to say?

I knew Shirley all of my life, as did my children. Shirley lived on Hill Drive, renting her apartment first from my parents, and then my husband and me. Shirley is sorely missed. We cannot believe we will not see her again. I cannot share all of my memories as some are too painful to do so, but I will always remember talking with Shirley on her balcony when she would come out for a breath of fresh air. She always wondered how each and every family member of mine was. She would often bring me something special from a restaurant that she had just been too, and we most often traded with each other, a sample of a new recipe. It was because of Shirley that we went to some really good eating establishments, as she always knew of the best ones. We got to spend some holidays with her, as when it was my turn to host, I would ask her to come over and be with us. We had some very nice times together. I will miss her very special birthday and Christmas gifts, as Shirley always bought me the sweetest things. I will not know what to do now that I have no Shirley to give wine, cheese and crackers too at Christmas time. Going to the Cheesekeeper in Belleville was special to me, to pick out her favorite cheese (Havarti). That is all I can say for now, except that Shirley was one of the most lovely, classy gals I have ever known. Unassuming, thoughtful, pleasant, kind, animal lover. We miss and love you Shirley. Shirley was a close friend to my mother, Bernice Penny, The two of them, along with Cleda Lombardo would all get together at my parents home, and the laughs would be flying.
We remember her wit and her sense of humor. She will be deeply missed.

Buzzie,

Many years ago I remember when your family resided just behind the Shanks store in Benton. Shirley was in my high school class of 1953. Shirley always had a pleasant smile and a great personality to go with the smile.
May she rest in peace with the Lord and her big smile will be a beacon to all in Heaven.
