DONGOLA - Teresa Sue Mowery, 57. of Dongola passed way Friday, Dec. 6, 2024, at home surrounded by her loved ones.
She was born June 10, 1967. in St. Clair County, the daughter of Freddie Allen and Carolyn Sue (Sharp) Poole. She married the love of her life, Mark Allen Mowery on Feb. 18, 1989, together they shared 35 years with one another.
Teresa was a lifetime member of New Hope Baptist Church. She was an avid animal lover and served with multiple 4-H Clubs. She loved watching her children show their animals at fairs. She spent her working career at Dongola School, Cypress Grade School and Dairy Queen in Anna. She enjoyed cooking new recipes, sewing and reading.
Teresa is survived by her loving husband, Mark Mowery, son, Caleb Mowery. and daughter, Callie Mowery, all of Dongola; parents, Freddie and Carolyn Poole of Anna; sister, Janette (Mark) Linton of Anna; mother-in-law, Joyce Mowery of Dongola; brother-in-law, John (Lora) Mowery of Dongola; sister-in-law, Carla (Joe) Roach of Stonefort; nephews, Patrick Linton of Anna, Joshua Linton (Tiffany Neely) of Jonesboro, Jacob (Kyli) Linton of Anna, Jeff (Brittany) Roach of Vienna, Greg (Jillian) Roach of Dongola; nieces, Christina Mowery of Dongola, Heather (Josh) Tucker of Marion; five great-nephews; three great-nieces; numerous aunts and uncles; other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Carroll Mowery and great-nephew, Landon Linton.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 10, in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro, with the Rev. Carl Dillow officiating. Interment will be privately at St. John's Cemetery, west of Dongola. Friends may visit from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 9, at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are preferred to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in memory of Teresa. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
