Wilber Hickam Obituary

MURPHYSBORO - Wilber Dean "Webb" Hickam, 91, of Murphysboro, died Friday, Jan. 26, 2024, at SIH Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.

Webb was an over the road truck driver up to his mid-70s mainly for Grammer Orchards and Flamm Orchards. He served in the National Guard.

Survivors include his children, Bruce Hickam, Gary Hickam, Sherry Johnson, John Cox, Allison Hickam, Joe Hickam and Ashley Riggio; 12 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Cleve and Effie (Hoover) Hickam; seven brothers; four sisters; and one grandson.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 30, in Crain Funeral Home in Murphysboro, with Rev. Chester Wisely officiating. Burial will follow at Dutch Ridge Cemetery with military honors by the Murphysboro area veterans organizations. Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Crain Funeral Home in Murphysboro is in charge of arrangements.
