Barry BROOKS Obituary


News Death Notice

BROOKS, Barry passed away September 28, 2014, after a courageous battle with colon cancer. He was born November 12, 1946, in Dayton, Ohio, to E. Lawrence and Laura Brooks. He graduated from Shawnee High School in 1965 and Eastern Kentucky University in 1969. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War. Barry was the owner and operator of Ohio Coin Investments. He is survived by his two daughters, Jessica Brooks (Christopher Moore and Stella), Heather (Derek) Sperzel and their mother, Teresa Brooks. He is also survived by two sisters, Bonnie (Bob) Cummings, Jackie (Sam) McGinnis, four nieces, Stephanie Cummings, Staci (Justin) Cox, Lori (Luke) Everhart, Sara (Ryan) Lee, four grand nieces, Olivia and Elliot Everhart, Madison and Aubrey Lee, grand nephew, Jaden Cox, and uncle and aunt, Keith and Nancy Brooks. Barry was preceded in death by his parents. He donated his body to Wright State University's School of Medicine. A celebration of Barry's life will be held on Wednesday 5-7 at Hafle's Winery. Barry meant more to his family and friends than he ever knew.

I just read today about Barry's passing. I went to school with both Barry and with Bonnie, as well as Bob. I always thought Barry was such a nice guy, a good person. I just can't believe it. Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers and that Barry can rest now.
