Benjamin Brown Obituary
St. George, Utah
Benjamin Allen Brown, 36, passed away Monday, April 15th 2013.
He was born June 1st 1976 in Fillmore, Utah the 6th of 9 children, to Lloyd and Alice Frederickson Brown. He married Andrea Wilkey on June 10th 1998 in the Salt Lake City, Utah Temple.
Growing up in Fillmore, Ben learned to love camping, fishing and hunting. After graduating from Millard High School in 1994 he served an LDS mission in the Philippines, Naga mission. He then went on to attend Utah State University where he studied Civil Engineering. It was while attending Utah State that he met his wife Andrea. After graduation they moved to St. George where he was employed as a Geotechnical Engineer at AGEC. He loved his job and working with the unique soils of Southern Utah. He had such an appreciation for this beautiful area. He was an accomplished wood worker and enjoyed building furniture for his home. He was an active member of the LDS church and served in any capacity he was asked. He loved the gospel and had a strong testimony of his Savior Jesus Christ. So much could be said about this loving, caring, wonderful man, but above all he would want people to know that his family was his passion. He loved his wife and children, they were his whole world. He loved and served his parents. He loved his brothers and sisters and their families. He loved living close to his in-laws, and had a special relationship with them, as well as with his wife's sisters and their families. He had so much love to give and he will be missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife Andrea Brown of St. George, his children, Lindsey, Emily, Tyler, Eliza and Grace. His parents Lloyd and Alice Brown of Fillmore, and Siblings, David (Polly) Brown, Leisa (David) Oka, Michael (Kathryn) Brown, Tena (Jerry) Winterton, Andrew (Lori) Brown, Cindy (Nick) Peterson and Shelly (Micheal) Monsen. Also his wife's family, Randy and Stephanie Wilkey and their children, Becky (Jeff) Wilde, Sara (Neil) Schmalz, and Rachel Wilkey, as well as many Nieces and Nephews, Aunts, Uncles and Cousins. He is preceded in death by a brother, Steven Brown, Grandparents, Dorothy Brown and John and Zelpha Frederickson.
Funeral Services will be Monday, April 22nd at 11:00 AM at the LDS chapel on 750 E. Fort Pierce Drive. A viewing will be held Sunday, April 21st from 6-7:30 pm at the Fort Pierce chapel, as well as a viewing on Monday from 9:30-10:30 am preceding the funeral. Interment will take place in the Tonaquint Cemetery.
Arrangements are made under the direction of Heideman Hughes Mortuary, 1037 E. 700 S. St. George, Utah, 435-674-5000. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family at State Bank of Southern Utah under the names Ben and Andrea Brown.

Benny was always a such joy to be around while growing up in Fillmore and spending a good portion of my early childhood at the Brown's. He was happy and smiling all the time. He was quite a bit younger than me, but I liked it when he "tagged along" because he was so open and genuine. And he was smart...often making me smile with his quiet, matter-of-fact, positive way of seeing the world. My heart is heavy with sadness for the entire Brown family. Thank you for sharing your Benny with me and my family. He was one of the "good guys".

Alice, Lloyd and all your family, so sad to hear this news of Benny's passing. He was just a toddler when we moved to Fillmore. We all remember him so well. Such a kind and loving person. Many prayers for all of you, life will get better and the good memories will always stay with you.

We can not even begin to feel the pain and anguish that the family is going through. Such a young age with so many wonderful experiences left in life to fulfull. We are so sorry to hear of this tragedy and hope that these little spirits will heal and find happiness out back in their sand pile once again. I am sorry to hear about Benny's passing. During our years in school; including when we were roomies at Logan, Benny always stood for what was right. It's a pretty good kid that gets it figured out that young. We'll catch up on the other side buddy.

Andrea, I enjoyed visiting with you at the pool the other day and seeing your beautiful family, can't believe how much they have grown up! They will be the ones that get you through this tragedy!! Andrea, I was one of the people helping in ICU the day he passed. My heart was breaking for you. What a strong woman you are. Your family will be in my thoughts and prayers.
