Cathy Mosher Obituary
Cedar City
Our daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend, Cathy K. Smith Mosher of Cedar City, UT, passed away on November 27th, 2013, from complications of COPD. Born December 30th, 1953, Cathy was the third child of Leo (Swead) K. Smith and Cleo J. Mortensen. Cathy married DeeRoy Stratton in 1970 (later divorced), and together they had a daughter Krisdee. In 1980 she married Harry Mosher (later divorced), and together they had a son Justin.
Cathy loved growing up in Cedar City. She enjoyed adventures with many friends and family members, often fishing, camping, and hunting for arrowheads in the surrounding countryside. Cathy was very social. She quickly made friends wherever she went, and she was always known for her love of animals. In her early career she loved being a waitress, where she had the opportunity to lift her guests' spirits with her playful personality. Cathy had a giving nature, and those around her were constantly receiving gifts from her—particularly the crocheted items that she loved to make.
Thanksgiving Day in heaven must have been a celebration full of warm embraces as Cathy joined those who preceded her in death: her father, brothers Alfred and Robert, her close sister Karen, nephews Scott and Kelly, and many other loved ones. She is survived by her mother, sister Dorothy, daughter Krisdee (Derek), son Justin, grandchildren Hayden, Braxton, Karlee, and Mariah, and many other family members and friends. She will also be missed by her two dogs, Bubba and Pugsy.
Cathy's family would like to express gratitude to Dr. Nupur Aggarwal, Valley View Medical Center, IHC Hospice, Kolob Regional Care Center, and all those who kindly cared for Cathy during the time of her physical challenges.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 3, at 11:00 in the Rock Church at 79 East Center Street in Cedar City. Friends and family may call Monday, December 2, from 6:00 to 7:30, and again one hour prior to services on Tuesday. Interment will follow in the Cedar City Cemetery.

Aunt Cleo, Dorothy, Krisdee and Justin,
I am so sorry for the sorrow you are having to bear once again.
Our Heavenly Father knows the pain and heartache you are going through and He is the "Great Comforter" and "Healer". His promises are true and He will get you through this.
I missed out on a lot of Cathy's later years, but one thing we had in common was our love of family...and our love of pugs!! I know that she will be missed by so many that loved her including me. I believe she was welcomed home by Jesus and all of her loved ones. WOW, what a celebration that must have been. I know she was one of his chosen and that will bring you peace.
My prayers are being lifted up for comfort, peace and healing only the Father can provide.

Cathy, you surly will be missed by your Mom, Sister, Children, Grandchildren, Aunts and Cousins. You always was teasing everyone, with a smile on you face, like happy go lucky. I remember playing at your house when we where little kids, getting into the creek behind Grandpa and Grandma's house, fishing and playing at the Family Reunions at Woods Ranch. Know you where greeted by many love ones, surly had a wonderful Thanksgiving together. I can vision you dancing from cloud to cloud. Bless you dear cousin may you R.I.P.

Cleo and Dorothy, we are so sorry for this huge loss once again in your family. Your family has endured more than most. We send our deepest sympathy, to you all. Cathy was a sweet, and fun person and she will be missed. And yes I can just see the celebration in Heaven. What a party everyone is having. Our Love and hugs are sent too you.
