SOUTH BEND - Emerson Carnet Fuller, 86, of South Bend, Indiana passed away on Friday, September 2, 2011 in Memorial Hospital, South Bend. He was born on June 14, 1925 in Indianola, Mississippi to the union of Levi and Amelia Fuller. He retired from Toro in 1995 where he worked for 26 years. He also worked for Studebaker until they closed in 1963. He was an active member of the Martin Luther King Jr. Center Senior Men's Club and the American Legion Post 309. He also served in WWII with the United States Marine Corp. He was also a big sports fan. He was a part of the Studebaker Softball team Local 5. His favorite sport was baseball. His favorite team was the Cubs. He would wear his Cubs cap and watch every game. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Barbara J. Williams Fuller; two sons, Steven C. Fuller, Michael E. Fuller Sr., both of South Bend; a daughter, Jill (Carl) Johnson of Elkhart, Indiana; a special daughter, Paula Dawning of Round Rock, Texas; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Levi and Amelia (Mclendon) Fuller; six brothers and three sisters: Castoria (Joseph) Matthews, Jettie Fuller, Otha Lee Fuller, Hurley (Edmond) Henry, Frank (Charline) Fuller, Levi (Beatrice) Fuller, Roosevelt Fuller, Wade (Butha) Fuller, Anna Mae (Samuel) Gregory; a special niece, Sedaria (John) Brinson, and a nephew, Frank Fuller Jr. Services for Emerson C. Fuller will be held on Saturday, September 10, 2011 in Greater St. John Missionary Baptist Church, 101 N. Adams Street. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. and then services at 12:00 noon.
