Eric Oeming Obituary

Eric Dennistoun Oeming

St. George

The Oeming Family of Edmonton, Alberta announce the passing of Eric Dennistoun Oeming son of May and Dr. Al Oeming. A devoted husband, brother and uncle, Eric will be forever remembered.

Eric was born May 16, 1963 in Edmonton and leaves behind a family legacy in the future redevelopment of his parent's former Alberta Game Farm / Polar Park. Eric is survived by his wife, Donna MacBean Oeming, brother-in-law Bob MacBean (Ruth), brothers Todd and Thelon Oeming (Ayrin), sister Lorelei von Heymann as well as nieces Lia (Brandon),Kara (Bob), Bethany, Robert and great nieces Charlie and Minka , cousins Laura Sharron and Dayelle Dennistoun and Aunt Virginia Stephenson Oeming.

The Oeming family would like to expressly thank the St. George Utah Intermountain Hospice, specifically Joni, Jan, Kirk, Sheila, Helene, Monica, Kelly, Britt and Dr. Haberle.

Born with an entrepreneurial spirit, and in keeping with the Oeming family, Eric will be fondly remembered for paying his dues with his father as they crisscrossed with Tawanna, Al's pet cheetah, spreading the conservation message while promoting the Alberta Game Farm and Polar Park. Throughout his many years on the road with Al, Eric developed a keen eye for value in horse era antiquities and evolved his business into the State of Utah in P2004.

In St. George he was involved in many charitable activities which benefited the Dove Center, Erin Kimball Foundation. Big Brothers Big Sisters, Millcreek High School and the Dixie Elks Lodge.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Community Soup Kitchen via Grace Episcopal Church, 1072 East 900 South St. George Utah 84790.

Arrangements are under the direction of Spilsbury Mortuary, St. George, UT (435) 673-2454. Family and friends are invited to sign his online guest book at www.spilsburymortuary.com .

What a shock to hear of Eric's passing. A totally different querie sent me to Al Oemings obituary. Then another to see if Eric's name came up.
I knew Eric as a teen and then a young man when I was growing up in Jasper, Alberta. Several good times were had hiking, skiing, and generally horsin' around! He'll be missed by his many friends in Jasper and beyond. My sincere condolenses to his entire family!!

Eric was a great story teller. I will always remember the wonderful tales of his adventures growing up that he would share. His many efforts to help others in need was fantastic; he touched the lives of many. I will miss him, but never forget him.
