Geraldine Dalton Excell

Geraldine Dalton Excell, 83 passed away on July 4th, 2014 at Dixie Regional Medical Center. Geraldine was born on September 16, 1930 in Ely Nevada to Jacob & Hazel Dalton. She was raised in Rockville Utah and graduated high school at Hurricane High. Geraldine found the love of her life and married Ward L Excell in Las Vegas Nevada on September 16th, 1948. Their marriage was later solemnized in the St George LDS Temple on April 15th, 1960. Following their marriage, Ward & Geraldine lived in Springdale, Zion, Bryce Canyon, and Yellowstone National Park's. Following retiring from the National Park Service, they returned to Springdale to be closer to their families. Following Ward's death, Geraldine served a mission for the LDS Church in Oklahoma, following her mission she moved to Hurricane.

Geraldine was preceded in death by her husband Ward.

She is survived by her children Mike (Ann), Tom (Marla), DiAnn (Neil), and Lynn (Kathy) all living in the Hurricane Valley; 13 Grandchildren; and 36 Great Grandchildren. She is also survived by 3 sisters and 1 brother.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, July 10th, 2014 at 11:00 AM at the Hurricane Stake Center located at 677 S 700 W Hurricane, Utah, a viewing will be held prior the service from 9:30 to 10:30. Interment will be in the Springdale City Cemetery.

TO THE ECELL FAMILY,
MY MEMORIES OF YOUR WONDERFUL MOTHER STARTED MANY YEARS AGO WHEN THEY LIVED IN BEYCE CANYON. MIKE WAS MY AGE AND DIANE WAS LIKE A SISTER AS SHE SPENT MANY SLEEP OVERS AT OUR HOME IN TROPIC AS SHE WAS THE SAME AGE AS RANDI MY SISTER . YOUR PARENTS WERE AWESOME! IT WAS HARD WHEN YOUR DAD PASSED AWAY LEAVING YOUR MOTHER, LUCKY SHE HAD ALL OF YOU LIVING CLOSE BY. IT WASNT BUT A MONTH AGO THAT I SAW DIANE AND SHE SAID SHE WAS DOING FINE. I REMEMBER MIKE HAVING A BIRTHDAY PARTY AND WE ALL WENT ICE SKATING, YOUR MOM MADE THE MOST AWESOME HOT CHOCOLATE! SHE WAS SO MUCH FUN TO BE AROUND WHATEVER YOUR AGE AND HAD A GREAT LAUGH!
