Judy Ensign Obituary

Judy Davis Ensign

St. George

Judy Davis Ensign wife, mother, grandmother, sister, friend, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, March 29, 2014. Judy was born in Brigham City, Utah on March 12, 1938 to Louise Oyler and Vinson F. Davis, Jr.

Judy grew up in the family farmhouse in Perry, Utah and learned to work, play and laugh in the open fields of their farm. She graduated from Box Elder High School and then received a degree from LDS Business college. After faithfully serving in the Houston Texas Mission, she attended BYU and met and married Lynn Call. They had six children and later divorced. Judy worked for many years as a successful legal secretary and in 1999 reconnected with Fred Ensign to whom she had been briefly engaged in her 20's. They married and then retired to St. George and have been loving companions for 15 years.

Judy loved to sew and quilt and was known by many for her homemade Swiss bread. She was a talented organist and loved sharing her talents in her ward. Her optimism and cheerfulness have endeared her to all who knew her.

She is survived by her husband, Frederic Ensign; siblings: Barbra Herschi, Gordon F. Davis and Donna Bytheway; her children; Bryce (Patricia) Call, Deborah Call, Sheralyn Call and Jared (Jessica) Call; and step-children: Marikka (Jason) Ludlow, Jordan (Christopher) Karpowitz, Ethan Ensign (Jean Eastham), Abigail (Craig) Snow and Gillian (Jared) Lott; 21 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by three half brothers: Roy Davis, Geraldine Davis and Darrell Davis; and two children: Shaunae Rossbach and Clayton Call.
