Robert Tanner Paxman, 84, passed away Sunday, May 1, 2016. Bob was born September 4, 1931 in Washington, Utah to Golden David and Rokah Tanner Paxman.

Bob was raised in Washington where he attended Washington Elementary, Woodard Junior High and Dixie High School. He was a member of the National Guard, when their unit was activated in 1950 for the Korean Conflict. Bob served his country in the field artillery as a Section Chief for fifteen months.

Bob married Delma Bushar January 24, 1953, in the St. George Temple. He was a member of the Washington LDS 9th Ward. He and his brother Arthur took over the family farm and started Paxman Brothers Dairy from 1953 to 1980, they continued to farm until 1996.

During the later years, he was a salesman for Rocky Mountain Produce, worked on Green Springs Golf Course and drove bus for Dixie College (Elder Hostel) where he enjoyed meeting many people and seeing the beauty of Southern Utah, before retiring at age seventy-five. Throughout the years Bob enjoyed many hobbies including fly fishing, hunting and looking for artifacts. He was well known for his gardening abilities.

The legacy that Bob leaves behind is the importance of family, integrity, the value of hard work and that a man's word is as good as a handshake.

Dear Delma, My husband and I did the Dixie State Elderhostel in 2004. We still talk about your and Bob's charm and wit. He steered the bus; you organized us! From Zion and Bryce to Cedar Breaks and Anasazi and Kolub Canyon--we had a truly wonderful and remarkable time. Your partnership was special; never a harsh word. You are in out prayers and thoughts.

Bob Paxman what a awesome man. I have a lot of good memories of working with and being around Bob as a friend of Lance. Bob and Delma always made me feel welcome. I cant think of ever knowing a better man than Bob. It was truly a pleasure. God bless Delma and family.
