I was lucky enough to be the "third wheel" several times when my dad, John Ballou, and his pal Tad went to lunch. Tad always had interesting things to talk about, and would keep Dad from being tough on the waitress when things weren't to his liking. I know that Dad always looked forward to their weekly lunches, especially after his stroke, when Tad showed such care and kindness AND patience with Dad when he had a hard time communicating. He was a great man.

I worked with Tad on my first drafting job at Titan steel. (1972) I was still going to school part time. He would take extra time to show me things. He influenced me greatly with his knowledge and humor. He ad a great stretch of a life! I always will remember him. Hi Bob! remember me?

Our family will be forever grateful to Tad for the friend he was to our dad, John Ballou. Tad was very kind and gracious and Dad loved him. He loved having lunch with Tad each week. We will always have a special place in our heart for Tad, always grateful to have known him. A wonderful, witty and charming man. He will be missed.
