Troy Dean Osmond

St. George - Our beloved Son, Brother, & Uncle Troy Dean Osmond was called home unexpectedly on November 9, 2018 at the age of 33. He passed away peacefully of natural causes in his parents home in St. George, UT. Troy was a friend to all. He welcomed everyone with his warm smile and big bear hugs. Everyone that knew him knew that they were loved unconditionally.

Troy had many loves. He loved playing the organ and cello. He loved meteorology and aviation. He loved everything about Christmas and was always known for keeping his Christmas lights up all year long. But of all his loves, he loved being around his family the most.

Troy was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He served a full-time mission in London, England and Louisville, Kentucky. He loved the gospel with all his heart. It brought him such peace and joy through the tough times.

His 15 nieces & nephews were his pride and joy. They all called him their "favorite uncle." He made each one of them feel special and made sure they knew how much he loved them.

We, as a family, are thankful for the knowledge that we will be reunited with our Son, Brother & Uncle again someday.

Troy is survived by his parents: Merrill & Mary Osmond, St. George, UT. His siblings: Travis (Maggon) Osmond, Grover, WY; Justin (Kristi) Osmond, Hurricane, UT; Shane (Brittney) Osmond, Henderson, NV; Heather (Kade) Hallows, Salina, UT; Sheila Osmond, Cedar City, UT. His loving nieces and nephews: Cassidy Osmond, Clanci Osmond, Emma Osmond, Eve Osmond, Aspen Osmond, Andelyn Osmond, McCall Osmond, Easton Osmond, Keaton Hallows, Cruze Hallows, Lincoln Hallows, Ledger Hallows, Emmitt Frischknecht, Alexis Frischknecht, Parker Frischknecht.

He is preceded in death by his Grandparents: George & Olive Osmond and Roy & Velda Carlson.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, November 13 at Noon in the Latter-Day Saint Stake Center located at 82 North Dixie Dr. St. George, UT 84770. Viewings will be held Monday, November 12 from 5-7 PM and Tuesday, November 13 from 10-11:30 AM.

Arrangements are made under the direction of Spilsbury Mortuary, 110 S. Bluff St., St. George, UT - (435) 673-2454.

Dear Mary and Merrill, I am deeply sorry for the loss of your son. Even though we are blessed to understand our purpose here and the eternal life we are promised with our families it does not take away the pain of losing a child. I know this through experience as I lost all 4 of my children, Nathan 18, Justin 16, Briana 14, Demrie 8 and my husband of 19 years William in a plane crash on our oldest sons 18th birthday on March 2nd 1998 in Boise Idaho. Even though the Lord as sustained me not a day goes by that I don´t miss them and feel their absence in my life. I´m grateful the time apart is very short for them, but for us is still very long. God Bless and keep you all close to His heart and enfolded in His arms.

I was in Alaska with my daughter last Christmas and she told me about Troy. I could not believe it. My heart goes out to my dear friends, Merrill and Mary and family. I know God helps us through these hard times but there is always the void there. I too lost a 18 year old grandson. I know God has a plan for us. I didn't know Troy, but I do remember Mary and her mom in Heber. What a nice teenager she was. My x-husband was great friends with Nile. I too lost a son when he was 33. I never have a day go by without a thought of him even after many years.

Dear Osmond Family - I met Troy at Don and Kimmy Cooks home in Spanish Fork Utah - At the time Troy was attending BYU as one of Dons Organ students. My husband, Arnold and I met Troy last year at Serenity in Mesquite and loved the way he made you feel like you were best friends right away. He always had a smile on his face and even made us smile after the bus broke down and we all ended up in St. George. :) Such a special young man that we will always remember.

As I read the obituary I could tell what a choice son he is and how much everyone will miss him.
