Wayne Bergstrom Obituary
Ivins
Wayne Richard Bergstrom was born January 4, 1940, passed away December 23, 2012, with his wife and daughter at his side.
Wayne grew up in Chicago, Illinois, the youngest of five children. He was an incredible mischief-maker and jokester, and loved to tease his older siblings. Wayne lived in the same home until he earned a gymnastic scholarship for Michigan State University. Having had enough of the cold weather after he graduated, he moved to sunny California, where he met his wife, Gay.
Wayne always had a love of music and sang in many choirs, from Chicago, to California and Utah. He also embraced old trains, and became an avid collector of any Lionel train he could get his hands on. One of his favorite vacations included a ride on the Durango-Silverton train; he enjoyed the scenery and had a wonderful time.
He married Gay Lynn Gifford in 1967; their daughter, Michelle Lee was born in 1971. He joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1978. He was later sealed to Gay in the St. George LDS Temple. He loved the gospel and shared his testimony.
He is survived by his wife, Gay; daughter, Michelle; brother, Don (Ann); sister, Gladys (Larry); and a passel of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Friday, December 28, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Red Cliffs LDS 1st Ward Chapel, 625 East Center Street, Ivins, Utah. A visitation will be held Friday, prior to services, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Chapel. Interment will be held at 2:00 p.m. at the Springdale, Utah Cemetery. Wayne is a great man, always eager to help and to serve others. Our childern loved staying with you both when we came to St. George. We will greatly miss his wonderful laugh and sense of humor. He had such a big heart and kindness naturally flowed from him. We know that we will see him again someday. We love you, Gay and Michele, and you are in our thoughts and prayers.

Dear Gay & Michelle, I'm very sadden to learn about the passing of your dear Wayne. I worked with him for many years at LVVWD. He was a wonderful soul and he will be missed. Praying for strength, comfort and peace during this very sad time.

Dear Gay and Michele,
We are all better for having known Wayne and he will be greatly missed. We feel your sorrow and know that our Father in Heaven's spirit will comfort you in this time of transition and loss. We know Wayne is experiencing wonder and many sweet reunions and the knowledge that we can all meet again someday brings us comfort and hope. We wish we could be with you but circumstances and distance prevent it right now but you are in our thoughts and prayers.
