Charles Thompson Obituary

Charles Glen Thompson, age 83, of Willisburg, KY, passed away at 11:22 p.m., Sunday, May 25, 2025, at the Springfield Nursing & Rehab Center.

A native of Washington County, he was born on September 19, 1941, to the late Amos and Auda Coulter Thompson.

He was a member of the Willisburg Church of God of Prophecy, a farmer and former owner of Gin Gin's Restaurant of Willisburg.

Preceding him in death was his wife, Virginia Boblitt Thompson on March 17, 2009; two brothers, Wilmo Thompson on March 16, 1985 and Elmo Thompson on February 21, 2011 and five sisters, Evelyn Cheser on September 18, 2008, Louise Hood on April 16, 2015, Betty Cheatham on February 12, 2018, Faye Watts on May 17, 2019 and Juanita Thompson on July 27, 2023.

Survivors include two sons, Tracey Thompson (Amy) and Stacey Thompson (Martha) of Willisburg; two grandchildren, Blake Thompson and Morgan Thompson; a brother, Billy Thompson (Myrna) of Springfield and two sisters, Marie Lewis (Charles) of Springfield and Blondella Lewis of Bloomfield.

Funeral services were held at at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, May 29, at the Willisburg Church of God of Prophecy with Rev. Mike Willingham and Rev. Keith Creech, officiating.

Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery at Willisburg.

Serving as pallbearers were Blake Thompson, Billy Thompson, Steve Taylor, Jacky Boblitt, Jonathan Hudson, and Mark Boblitt.

Carey & Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
