David Benedict Obituary

David Albert Benedict, 53, of Doctor Street, Springfield, passed away at 3:15 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 14, 2016, at the home of his son in Raywick.

He was born in Lebanon Dec. 21, 1962, to Robert Edward and Lou Purdom Benedict.

He was a member of Temple Baptist Church, a 1981 graduate of Washington County High School and a former rural mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service.

Preceding him in death was his father, Bobby Benedict Aug. 18, 1993, his brother, Thomas Edward Benedict Feb. 21, 2016, his maternal grandparents, Tom and Mary Elizabeth Purdom and his paternal grandparents, Edd and Corine Benedict.

Survivors include his wife, Patty Spalding Benedict, a daughter, Amber Ervin (Jay) of Rineyville, a son, Robby Benedict (Michelle) of Raywick, five grandchildren, Lily, Kayla and Justice Hamilton and Jaiden and Landan Benedict and his parents, Lou and Beaman Dearinger of Bardstown.

A memorial service was held at 4:30 Saturday, Aug. 20, at Carey & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Cal Adams, pastor of the Temple Baptist Church, officiating.

Carey & Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
