David Lawrence Johnson

1951 - 2022

David Lawrence Johnson, age 70, of Springfield, KY, passed away at 4:00 p.m., Saturday, January 15, 2022, at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.
He was born in Lebanon, KY on November 7, 1951 to the late Charles Bertrand and Mary Thaddeaus Hill Johnson.
He was a member of the New Beginnings Community Church, a 1969 graduate of Washington County High School, a Vietnam Veteran of the United States Army and was a retired employee of Heaven Hill Distillery.
Survivors include his wife of forty-seven years, Patsy Vize Johnson; two sons, Joseph David Johnson (Tracey) of Elizabethtown and William Brian Johnson of Springfield; a daughter-in-law, Amanda Johnson of Greensburg; eight grandchildren, Sara Stivers (Shane), Kayla Daugherty (Stephen), Drew Johnson, Devin Johnson, Shelby Ryan, Brianna Johnson, Abigail Johnson and Alex Johnson; one great grandson, Hutson Daugherty ; two sisters, Mary Ann Mattingly of Lebanon and Dorothy Gootee of Loretto and three brothers, J.C. Johnson of Springfield, Albert Johnson (Brenda) of Lebanon and Billy Johnson (Diane) of Greensburg.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 22nd at the Carey & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Stacey Wilson, officiating.
Burial will be in the St. Rose Cemetery where military rites will be conducted by the Marion County Veterans Honor Guard.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Sara Stivers, Shane Stivers, Kayla Daugherty, Stephen Daugherty, Hutson Daugherty, Shelby Ryan, Brianna Johnson, Abigail Johnson, Alex Johnson, T.R. Smith, David Tingle, Lee Glasscock and Hal B. Goode.
Serving as casket bearers will be Drew Johnson, Devin Johnson, Bobby Johnson, Zach Johnson, Doug Carrico and Tony Smith.
Visitation will be from 4 until 8 Friday at the Carey & Son Funeral Home.
