Helen Ruth Gaunce

1930 - 2020

Helen Ruth Bellamy Gaunce, age 90, of Willisburg, KY passed away at 2:51 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2020, at Baptist Health Lexington.
A native of Nicholas County, she was born on June 26, 1930, to the late James Russell and Marian Stone Bellamy.
She was a member of the Antioch Christian Church. She was a 1949 graduate of Fleming County High School and a 1968 graduate of Fugazzi Business College. She was a seventy-one year member of the Marie Chapter Order of the Eastern Star. Helen was a retired employee of the U.K. Medical Center.
Preceding her in death was her husband, Fisher R. Gaunce on Feb. 1, 1979; two sons-in-law, William Ray "Bill" Barlow on March 22, 2019 and John L. Vice on May 6, 2010; a great grandson, Stephen Keith Tallant on May 22, 2018; a sister, Pearl Elizabeth Gaunce on March 18, 2007; and three brothers, James Russell Bellamy, Jr. on June 26, 2017, Stanley Bellamy on Oct. 7, 2019, and James O. Gaunce on April 23, 2015.
Survivors include two daughters, Kathy Barlow of Willisburg and Mary Beth Vice of Lexington; five grandchildren, Scott Barlow (Amy), Lisa Tallant (Keith), Sherri Gifford (Brian), Amy Parks and Jaime Lillie; eighteen great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 19 at the Willisburg Christian Church with Bro. Lance Ladd and Keith Smith, officiating.
Burial was in the Carlisle Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers were Ethan Barlow, Devin Johnson, Drew Johnson, Stephen Daugherty, Shane Stivers and Wesley Whitaker.
Carey & Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
