Mary Spalding Obituary
Born December 29, 1941, in Springfield, she was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Richard Spalding, December 10, 1997, and Mary Hazel Wright Spalding, May 4, 2007, a son, Philip Andre Spalding, December 14, 2002, a brother, David Anthony Spalding, December 1, 2023, and three sisters, Rebecca Spalding, December 14, 2002, Elizabeth Ann Spaulding, April 10, 2020, and Barbara Hodgens, August 29, 2023.
She attended Rosenwald High School and the Lincoln Institute, received an associate degree from Spalding College in Louisville, was a Foreman at Owens-Illinois in Bardstown for 32 years and was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
She is survived by three grandsons, Philip Andre Spalding II of Cox's Creek, Jakari Isaiah Spalding and Matthew Jordan Spalding both of Louisville, five brothers, Joe (Georgia) Spalding of Lebanon, Paul, Jeffrey (Cathy) and Eric (Anita) Spalding all of Springfield and Peter (Joyia) Spalding of Los Angeles, California, seven sisters, Margaret, Jane and Susan Spalding all of Louisville, Julia, and Maureen Spalding, Maria Pasley and Pamela Grundy all of Springfield.
Funeral mass for Mary Cecilia Spalding will be conducted Wednesday, October 23, 2024 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church with Rev. Pier Giorgio Dengler, O.P. officiating. Burial will be in St. Dominic-Holy Rosary Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Andre Spalding II, Jakari Spalding, Richard and Douglas Spalding, Malcolm Grundy and Mitchell Hughes.
A prayer service will be held at 7:00 pm Tuesday, October 22, at Hale-Polin-Robinson Funeral Home where friends may call from 5:00 till 8:00 pm Tuesday and again from 7:00 am till 9:30 am Wednesday morning.
Hale-Polin-Robinson Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.
