Thomas Cambron Obituary
Born May 30, 1923, in Washington County, he was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Robert and Alma Vize Cambron; his wife, Nancy Margaret Bishop Cambron, Jan. 12, 2018; a son-in-law, Robert L. Galphin III, Sept. 28, 2013; four brothers, Bill, Frank, Harold (Jake) and Joseph (Doc) Cambron; six sisters, Marguerite Cambron, Ann (Pinky) Osbourn, Alice (Jackie) Smith, Helen (Dolly) Bishop, Catherine Fogarty and Verlie Troutman.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of WW II, was owner and operator of Convenient Food Mart in Danville for 22 years and was a member of St. Dominic Catholic Church.
He is survived by a son, Tom (Jane) Cambron of Middlesboro; two daughters, Gwendolyn Galphin, M.D. and Donna Sue Cambron both of Columbia, South Carolina; two grandchildren, Kari (Bill) Burchfield and Stephen (Ashley) Cambron; and three great grandchildren, Piper Burchfield and Henry and Miles Cambron.
Funeral mass for Thomas Raymond "Tom" Cambron was conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 22, 2021, at St. Dominic Catholic Church with Rev. David Farrell officiating. Burial was in Cemetery Hill with military honors rendered by Marion County Veterans Honor Guard.
Visitation was held Wednesday and again Thursday morning at Hale-Polin-Robinson Funeral Home where a prayer service was held Wednesday.
Pallbearers were Stephen Cambron, Bill Burchfield, Gary Carney, Bobby Humes, Bobby Lee Russell and Jonathan Devine.
Contributions are suggested to St. Dominic.
Hale-Polin-Robinson Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.
