Ruben Francisco Quintero 87, passed away on November 1st 2024 in Chula Vista, Ca.
On April 30th 1937 Ruben was born one of four children to parents Tiburcio Quintero and Concepcion Ruiz in Florence Arizona.
He was an exceptional athlete and loved playing basketball and football. He was a graduate from El Centro High School class of 1955. He loved to dance and play his guitar and listen to country music.
Shortly after graduation Ruben served in the U.S Army, and was stationed in Eun-Ulm Germany where he met Erika Lukat in 1958 and unbeknownst to him at the time, became a father to an unknown son.
After serving in the Army abroad Ruben was assigned back to the states where he met Sally A. Gonzalez, they were married shortly after and became parents to 4 children. After 13 years they separated.
Ruben spent many years at Rohr Industries where he excelled in his career. Then retired after 30 years.
Ruben leaves behind a sister Alicia, brother Roy, and his five children; Loretta, Blanca, Eric, Dominic and a son in Germany he always dreamt of meeting. Ruben also leaves behind 11 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
Ruben was a beautiful man, kind, loving, dedicated and generous to all in need of help. He was also stubborn, with a funny sense of humor. His favorite phrases consisting of " Sheesh!" and " For Petes Sake!" He had a sweet tooth and bright smile.
He was a beloved father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, and friend who will be loved and missed, always.
A celebration of his life will be held on November 23rd at 1:00 pm at Generations Church located at 1059 Tierra Del Rey #F Chula Vista, CA 91910
