Alma Hines Obituary
Parker City - Alma Hines, 88, of Parker City, IN, passed away Monday, June 12, 2017 at her residence.
She was born January 25, 1929 in Breathitt County, KY, the daughter of Walker and Mary (Reynolds) Combs. She was a homemaker.
Alma was a member of Union Chapel Church of Parker City, IN and the Avondale Sympathy Club. She had a special love for small children. She had an artisan gift in gardening, both flower and vegetable.
She leaves to cherish her memory two sons, Roger Plate (wife, Julia) of Muncie, IN and Martin Snodgrass (Michelle Frankhouser) of Ft. Wayne, IN; a daughter, Kathy Halstead of Parker City, IN; a sister, Martha Hughes of Muncie, IN; ten grandchildren; fourteen great -grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
A service to celebrate Alma's life will be 12:00 noon on Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at Thornburg Memorial Chapel of Parker City, IN. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery of Windsor, IN.
Family and friends may gather to share and remember from 10:00 a.m. to service time on Tuesday, June 20 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to your local food pantry, Union Chapel Church or you may consider planting a tree.

Kathy, Marty, Roger,
you had a very special mother.She was a wonderful neighbor and a special friend. I will miss her greatly! I will miss all the talks we had on the porch, the banana pudding,and the other foods she fixed for me and all her canning advice.
There are not very many neighbors who would give you a cup of sugar if you needed it but Alma was that kind of neighbor. She helped her family,and anyone she could with anything she had, even if it meant going without for herself, cause that was how much of a caring person she was. I wanted to let you guys know your mom loved you and talked about you often. I Love and miss you Alma your friend and neighbor Electa Fraga
