Charles Rector Obituary
Muncie - Charles E. Rector, 88, passed away Wednesday morning April 28, 2021 at Westminster Village.
He was born September 9, 1932, in Muncie, the son of Delmer and Carrie (Roof) Rector. Charles graduated from Eaton High School in 1950, where he was on the Cheerleading Squad.
Mr. Rector Owned and Operated Charles E. Rector Insurance, Inc. as an Insurance and Financial Advisor for more than 65 years. He was a General Agent for Lafayette Life Insurance Company. Charles taught several life insurance continuing education courses during his career.
He was a lifetime member of the Million Dollar Round Table, and was previously the Chamber of Commerce's Insurance Agent and Financial Advisor. Charles was also a member of the Muncie Jaycee's and a 65-year member of the National Association of Life Insurance and Financial Advisors.
Mr. Rector was an avid pilot, and built and flew model airplanes. He enjoyed golfing and spending time watching his grandchildren play sports.
Surviving are his wife of 70 years, Jacqulyn Rector; two sons, Dr. Thomas (Becky) Rector; Dr. Jeffrey (Nancy) Rector; five grandchildren, Thomas B. (Nicole) Rector, Alison Ogle, Dr. Adam (Sarah) Rector, Dr. Bryan (Nicole) Rector, and Dr. Jonathan Rector; eight grandchildren, Jaxon Rector, Jett Rector, Jason Ogle, Gabriella Rector, Jack Rector, Brayden Rector, Austin Rector, and Katelyn Rector; a daughter-in-law, Lisa Gillies-Rector; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Andrew Rector; six brothers, Donald Rector, Samuel Rector, Harry Rector, Clarence Rector, Bobby Rector, and Delmer Rector; and one sister, Edna Hannah.
A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 pm Sunday, May 2, 2021 at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel.
Friends may call at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel, from 1:00 pm until service time at 3:00 pm on Sunday, May 2, 2021.
Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
