Mr. Williams was my principal at Enterprise Elementary and DeLand High. He was kind, knew us individually, listened to us and shared his time, and obviously genuinely cared about students. Years later, as a teacher myself, I understood more about what a challenging job he had. To have been that positive and that admired, under those circumstances, is remarkable. I hope he knew what a difference he made and that his loved ones can take comfort in knowing that his legacy has been far reaching.

He was a chemistry teacher at Deland High when I moved here in my Jr year of high school. He mentored me and was always there for Dennis and I. I watched him with other people. He was always kind, helpful and encouraging to everyone. He was always smiling, even if he was upset about something. We have lots of great memories of the whole family together. RIP Uncle Chuck!

Last day of school 1989. I found this of he and a friend of mine I took as we were leaving school for the last time.

I was a student at Deltona High when Mr. Williams was principal. I remember him fondly. He was often smiling, stopping to talk to students and trying to get to know us individually -- an incredible feat considering the massive size of our high school, which already had portable classrooms on the very first day it opened in 1988. I remember being upset, as were other students, when Mr. Williams left Deltona High in 1991, right before my senior year. He did show up for our graduation ceremony the following spring, though. I wonder if he knew how much that meant to us.

I send my condolences to the Williams family. You will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Mr. Williams was my daughter's principal at Enterprise Elementary. (1981) He was great and years later he hired me at Deltona High (89). I had moved back from Auburn, AL and met him in the parking lot at DHS. After a short conversation , I was told to go inside to inform his administration that he hired me. I am grateful for all that he did for my family. May God provide peace for the Williams' family during your loss.
