Elmer Glen Dalton

Muncie - Elmer Glen Dalton, 86, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 3, 2020 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital. He was born in Albany, KY on November 13, 1934 and was the son of the late Willie Love Dalton.

Glen was a loving husband, Dad, Grandfather and Great Grandfather.

He proudly and honorably served his country in the United States Army.

Glen retired from Westinghouse/ABB as a foreman after 30 years of dedicated service. He was a skilled welder, draftsman and builder. Glen loved working on projects for family and friends, there was never a project to big or small for Glen to happily work on. He improved everything he worked on with pride and determination. Glen shared his knowledge and knowhow for completing projects with friends and family. He designed and built two of the houses he and his family lived in. Glen was a member of the New Castle Elks.

Glen is survived by his loving wife Betty; three sons Michael Dalton, David Dalton (Nancy) and Jordan Dalton; a step-son Roger Shrum (Donna); several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law Jeanne Waddell, a brother-in-law Jim Langston (Patsy); several nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to his mother and father he was preceded in death by his siblings; a brother-in-law Roy Langston and a step-son Rob Shrum.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date. Burial will be in South Mound Cemetery, West Lawn Addition in New Castle.

Sorry to hear of Elmers passing. We worked together at W/ABB both in Muncie and in Field Service. Always enjoyed working for and with him. Will always remember our dinner at the Crab House in Florida with Elmer and Jim Savage. God Bless the Dalton Family. Randy Cunningham
