Eric Allred Obituary

Eric Ryon Allred

On Sunday, February 7, 2021, Eric Ryon Allred fell asleep in the land of the dying and awoke in the land of the living. Eric fought valiantly against ALS, but that is not what defined him.

Eric was born on Saturday, December 4, 1976 to Rick Allred and Sally White. He grew up fishing in the ponds and rivers around Muncie and dreaming of the big leagues with each at bat.

Eric was a 1995 graduate of Muncie Central High School where he excelled on the field and on the court.

Eric learned patience on the banks of rivers and ponds each time he dropped a line to catch a fish. In the quiet of the morning, he would learn the effort it takes to catch what your heart longs for.

He was a musician and poet who captured the struggle and renewing of his life in song.

Eric was a warrior clothed in the armor of God. He not only fought his disease, he found victory where others would only have found struggle.

Eric was an evangelist who shared his passion and testimony. If God can do it for Eric, he can do it for you.

Eric leaves a legacy through his wife, Tara, and children Malachi, Silas, Tyler, Rachel, Zecharyah and Magdalene.

He is also survived by his, father, Rick (Kelly) Allred; step-brother, (Eric Barton); uncle, Tom and Kathy Hickey, uncle, Steve and Linda Allred; cousins Travis Hickey, Trent Hickey, Tamra Conatser, Brent Allred and Kim Allred; and two nephews Lyric and Titus Waters.

Eric was preceded in death by his beloved sister, Rachel Allred and his mother, Sally White.

A Celebration of Eric's life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, February 12, 2021 at The Gathering, 9512 N Walnut St, Muncie.

The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel is in charge of arrangements and online condolences may be sent to the family at www.meeksmortaury.com.

I’ve known Eric since we were little. My mom used to babysit for him & Rachel. He & my brother were the same age & would pal around. I came across his FB several years ago & was blessed to hear his testimony of what God had done for him. He seemed to be real in his posts & trying to encourage others. I am saddened by the news of his passing. Sending prayers for his family

I have known Eric since we were in middle school playing baseball then basketball against each other. Eric is one of the most loyal people I have
ever met and was fortunate to call friend. I will forever remember and laugh hysterically about the 1:00 A.M. prank "its me Kojack I am in jail calls come bail me out" to the Anderson community circa 1993.

Rest easy brother, I will see you on the other side.

Rick, our thoughts and prayers are with you and the entire Allred family.

I knew Eric through my work, and he was the kindest and nicest person. I feel so bad that he had to go through all that sickness. I know he's at peace now so that helps with the grief. My prayers to all his family to find peace in your hearts.

Sending love and prayers to all of Eric’s family during this difficult time. I have several memories that go back many years into my childhood with Eric.
It was such an amazing thing to see all the greatness he put off. His personal growth, ministry and faith alone over the years was remarkable and inspirational. I pray that his family and loved ones feel wrapped up in the Lords loving arms and receive some peace and comfort in the days ahead. And I pray that Eric’s legacy shines bright thru his children moving forward. God Bless
