James D. "Jim" McClain

James D. "Jim" McClain, 80, passed away unexpectedly on Monday afternoon, January 25, 2021 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital.

He was born on October 18, 1940 in Pineville, West Virginia, the son of Elman Wayne and Irene Jackson (Cook) McClain and graduated from Mullins High School in 1958. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Army from 1959-1962.

Jim started his real estate career in 1976 at Ed McKibben Realtors and worked there for several years before joining Lunsford Real Estate in 1980 where he became the first sales manager and vice-president until his retirement in 2019.

His first love was basketball, especially the Pacers and bass fishing. Jim also loved to spend time with his wife and family.

He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Linda K. McClain of Muncie; two children, Jim S. McClain (companion, Shelli Burden) and Becky Huff (husband, Joe) both of Muncie; three step-children, Tony Tetrault (wife, Holly) of Yorktown, Kimberly Tetrault (husband, David I) of Bethesda, MD and Thomas Tetrault (wife, Jaime) of Rushville; eleven grandchildren, Ashley and Michael McClain, Alexis Huff, Haley, Abbie, Kingston, Lennon and Luna Tetrault, Ella and Beckett I and Quentin Cain; and two great-grandchildren, Kadence and Cole McClain.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Bob McClain and Ed McClain; and one sister, Elaine Huffman.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, services will be private and burial will follow at Hawk Cemetery in Yorktown with full military honors provided by the U.S. Army and the Veterans of Delaware County.

The Meeks Mortuary, Mt. Pleasant Chapel is in charge of arrangements and online condolences may be sent to the family at www.meeksmortuary.com.
