Jane Arment, 95

Muncie - Jane Arment, 95, passed away on Monday morning, September 11, 2017 at Morrison Woods Health Campus.

She was born in Scottdale, Pennsylvania on February 10, 1922, the daughter of Hale and Polly (Chain) Johnston.

Jane was a graduate of East Huntington School in Pennsylvania and a graduate from Uniontown Nursing School. Jane attained the rank of Ensign in the United States Navy. She married Robert N. Arment on October 10, 1945 in Oakland, California. She retired from Ball Hospital after forty-two years of service as a Registered Nurse, Coordinator, Supervisor, Staff Nurse, and Administrative.

She was a member of The Garden at Gethsemane United Methodist Church. She enjoyed reading, cooking, and her family.

Survivors include her two daughters, Linda K. Arment of Muncie and Barbara J. Arment of Muncie; two sons, Robert H. Arment (wife, Cynthia) of Tampa, FL and William R. Arment of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Stephen Arment, Melissa Foster, and Greggory Arment; two great-grandchildren; sister, Doris Taylor; brother, Wallace Johnston; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband of fifty-eight years, Robert N. Arment, sister, Rita Cook, and two brothers, Bill Johnston and Les Johnston.

Services will be at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 14, 2017 at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery, north of Muncie.

Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 14, 2017 at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel.

Memorial contributions may be directed to The Garden at Gethsemane United Methodist Church Youth Group, 1201 W. McGalliard Rd., Muncie, IN 47303.
