Juanita Lewis Obituary
Muncie - Juanita L. Lewis, 88, passed away on Sunday morning, February 10, 2019 at Willowbend Living Center.
She was born on January 9, 1931 in Muncie, the daughter of James Burton and Olive Marie (Pauley) Weaver and attended Muncie Central High School and Ball State University. She married Royce Lewis in 1948 in New Castle.
Juanita worked for Ball Brothers, Indiana Bell and Ball State University Bracken Library. She was an early member of Delaware County Genealogical Society and was an avid genealogist for 50 years.
Surviving are two daughters, Sherry Cross (husband, H.C.) of Selma and Jennifer Sparks (husband, Michael) of Peru, IN; two grandchildren, Heidi Gaskill (husband, Benjamin) of Indianapolis and Adam Cross of Selma; one sister, Virginia Spurgeon; one brother, Charles Weaver; and her beloved cat, Garfield.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 51 years, Royce Lewis on March 8, 1999; one granddaughter, Taylour Sparks; two brothers, Adrian Weaver and Kenneth Weaver; and two sisters, Frances Jett and Phyllis Hiett.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel, with Pastor Mitchell Haynes officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Tabor Cemetery.
Family and friends may call at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel, from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 13, 2019.
