Thomas Hines Obituary

Thomas E. Hines

Muncie - Thomas E. Hines, 68, Muncie, IN was called home on July 31st, 2018 at Signature Healthcare while surrounded by his family and close friends. He was born on May 9th, 1950 in Muncie, IN to Norman and Dorothy (Scheidler) Hines.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Deanna Hines, his children, Scott Cunningham, Christopher (Kristen) Hines, Jon Cunningham, Jason (Nicole) Reed, Melissa (Shannon) Fritz, Matthew Hines, Hannah (Justin Engelmann) Hines, his sister Kathy (Mark) Spafford, 14 grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, his church family and many friends. He is proceeded in death by both his parents, brother Robert Hines, and daughter Sarah Hines.

Tom was an active member at Morning Star Ministries where he was an elder, served as an AMA advocate and loved being the worship leader for over 25 years. He had a passion for music and sharing his love of God through the songs he played each week. He was also involved in the church community outreach programs: The Bread Basket, The Soup Kitchen and Unity Meetings. He truly loved serving God and others in any capacity that he was able.

Tom lived a life where God was his best friend, no one was a stranger, prayer was his primary language and there was always a smile and kind word for each person he came in contact with. He loved everyone and never failed to use every moment to express that. Every day was spent enjoying life and sharing God's love and word to those he came in contact with. Tom was an avid outdoorsman, one of the best guitar player/ songwriters around, often writing silly songs for his family to enjoy. He especially loved his grandchildren and could be found doing silly antics to make them laugh. He was known as the social butterfly to all who knew him. At Signature, he was always involved in their numerous activities, community trips and going up and down the hallways with his music playing loudly for all to hear. He will be greatly missed by everyone that was blessed to have known him.

Friends may call August 6th, 2018 at Church of the Living God, 1120 E Washington St Muncie, IN from 4:30pm-7:00pm.
