Timothy Sharp Obituary

Timothy Paul Sharp

MUNCIE - Timothy Paul Sharp fought the good fight, he has finished his race, and he has kept the faith. Trusting in Jesus to take him home safely, Tim experienced that Tuesday, February 24, 2014.

Tim was born in Jamestown, Tennessee on June 7, 1962, the one and only son of the late Paul and Janet (Stephens) Sharp. Tim moved with his family to Indiana when he was three and made his home here for the rest of his 52 years of life. Proud father of Annie B and Mallery J Sharp (Springport), Tim loved nothing more than spending time with his girls', even it was just some time listening to his "good old rock and roll" with them.

A veteran of the United States Air Force, Tim went on to put the skills he learned while in the service as a heating and air expert to good use to support his family, working for Muncie Community Schools, Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis, and most recently Ball State University. A 1980 graduate of Blue River Valley High School, Tim pursued his love of learning new things while attending Ivy Tech and Ball State University, earning "enough credits for a doctorate" as he liked to joke before re-entering the work force. Tim loved his girls, he loved his family, he loved his music, and he loved to laugh with friends and strangers alike. And for those who loved him dearest, thanks to Jesus' sacrifice, this isn't "goodbye" but rather "talk to you later".

Tim is survived by his daughters, Annie and Mallery and also by his sisters, Nancy Copley and Vanessa Lee (Kevin); his nephews, Mason Lee, Zachary Barner and Adam Gutermuth; his niece, April Rector Sanchez; his ex-wife and mother of his beautiful daughters, Marci Beerbower Sharp; his sister-in-laws, Lora Wright (Terry), Judy Gutermuth (Steve), and Angie Rector; his former in-laws, Dick and Joyce Beerbower; his little 'bro', Tramell Jennings and his god-son Tyson; and, several aunts and uncles as well as many cousins.

Tim was preceded in death by his parents; his sister Connie; his brother-in-laws, Paul Copley and Garth Rector, and a very special friend and brother in Christ, Danny Ratliff.

Services to celebrate Tim and his life will be 12:00 p.m. Saturday, February 28, 2015 at Parson Mortuary, Muncie.

Anyone wanting to share their memories of Tim with the family may visit from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Saturday before the service. A second time of visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Sunday, February 29, 2015 at Akers Chapel, Jamestown Tennessee with burial to follow at Sharp Place Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent for the upkeep of Sharp Place Cemetery c/o Jennings Funeral Home, PO Box 765, Jamestown, Tennessee 38556.

Tim was a good friend to my sister and I for years. We rode bus #44 together and got together on the weekends from time to time. We had lots of laughs and great memories that I treasure. Rest in peace my friend.

So very sorry to hear about Tim's passing. Tim was on our Housing Team at IUPUI for several years. He was one of a kind and always made our students and staff laugh. He genuinely cared about his work and wanted to help students while they lived on campus. When I became aware of his passing I reached out to many of our staff members and students to let them know. In talking to many people that Tim impacted while he was here at IUPUI, it's so evident that he added joy to their lives with his sense of humor and his sense of caring. He made a big time impact and I know we at IUPUI in Housing & Residence Life were lucky for the time we were able to spend with Tim. Thoughts and prayers to Tim and his family and friends.

Annie & Malorey - You are being lifted up in prayer as we think about your Dad who has now gone on to Heaven - a bit earlier than we, here on earth, might want - but so thankful he is now home and HEALED, completely healthy and free. May your memories of his TIME AND SMILES AND LOVE FOR YOU both keep you going thru these days and years ahead. You have beautiful parents who have made you the beautiful girls that you are!!! love and hugs and prayers from us all... angie, bond, alec & spencer paul
