Adonis Grimes Obituary
Adonis died Friday, May 7, 2010. He was the son of Cecil Marqeise Grimes and Roylecia Lynneice Baymon.
He is survived by his parents, Cecil Marqeise Grimes and Roylecia Lynneice Baymon; his brother, Amir M. Grimes; his paternal grandparents, Cecil and Gail Grimes-Dudley; his maternal grandparents, Roya and Sarah Bayman, all of Columbia, SC; and a host of other relatives and friends.

My prayers go out to the Baymon family. I wasn't blessed with the pleasure of knowing the child in the picture with the beautiful smile. But I do know his mom and grandparnets Roy and Sarah. I can't imagine the pain your going though but just know that Adonis is with God and that beautiful smile is on his face.

As an employee with the SCDC, I extend my heartfelt sorrow for the loss of this beautifully made, bright eyed child. Admittedly there is no good in good-bye, only tears and memories that fill you from inside...but only for a little while... as sure as the sun will shine again...you will bask in the glow of his "remember whens..." Hold on to God's unchanging hand and be assured that you will see Adonis again. In the meantime and between time, take your time, because time is what it takes... until then, know that he will forever dwell within your heart, his resting place, with mercy and God's grace you will never be apart. Peace be with you, now and always. Amen

Hi Baymon,
I was shocked when I heard about Adonis' passing. How many times at work would I ask about your kids and you would respond with some funny, off the wall thing they had said or done. Hold tight to those memories and remember he was blessed with a dear Mom.

To Adonis's Mother, I can't imagine any greater loss than a mother to loosing her child. I know your heart is aching, but know your sweet handsome little man is with Jesus. He's wrapped up in his arms. My prayer will always be with you and your family. Remember God will see you through this troubled time. May God continue to bless you and your family.

I did not know Adonis but his beautiful smile touched my heart and made me think of my two children. I can not imagine the pain that you are going through. May the precious five years God allowed him to spend with you all bring you great joy, comfort and wonderful memories. I will be praying for you.

I did not know Adonis or do I know your family. I just want to send my condolences to your family for your loss. What a handsome young man and I know he will be looking down on you from heaven. May the wonderful memories that where made here on earth help you through this time of grief. Always remember our children are on loan from God and he may call them home at anytime to become one of his fulltime angels. He will be waiting on you when your time comes.

To this grieving family, I don't know of you or your family, but I wanted to stress my condolences and let you know that you're in my prayers. I have children of my own and I just couldn't imagine the pain you must be experiencing at this time. When I first heard of this story, tears strolled my face because I hate to hear of any tragedy involving a child. I pray for your sorrow to turn into your strentgh and with God almighty, just believe that your angel is in the hands of the Lord and nothing but happiness has taken over.God Almighty please help to heal this family, bring them peace and allow them to feel your presence. The peace you bring upon them Jesus, remind them this is the peace little Adonis now feels and he's in the best place we all hope to be oneday. With you Lord, Amen.

I never knew Adonis, but his photo touched my heart. He is an adorable child who's smile will make heaven even brighter.
