Mrs. Weaver was born in Orangeburg, SC, January 5, 1928, to the late Frank Wade Edwins and Virginia Inabinet Edwins. She was educated in the Orangeburg County schools and was married for 60 years to the late R.C. 'Bob' Weaver Sr. She was an active member of St. Andrews United Methodist Church, having been the assistant Four-year-old Sunday School Class teacher for many years. She was a homemaker, an excellent wife, mother, grandmother and sister who always put her family's needs ahead of her own. Besides her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a daughter, Cheryl Lyn Weaver; sisters, Frances Auerswald, Margaret Betsill, Barbara Collins; brothers, Frank Edwins Jr. and Jimmy Edwins.
Survivors include three sons, Robert C. (Frances) Weaver Jr. of Lone Star, Frank (Susan) Weaver of Columbia, Al (Beth) Weaver of Orangeburg; one daughter, Margaret Ann (Scott) Terry of Orangeburg; eight grandchildren, Claudia (Jackson) Pardue and Brett Weaver, both of Lone Star, Jennifer (Geoff) Coons of Simpsonville, Scott (Stacy Weeks) Weaver of St. Matthews, Allison Weaver of Memphis, TN, Charlsy and Holden Terry of Orangeburg, and Lucas Tarvin of Columbia; five great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Abby Pardue, both of Lone Star, and Addison, Mason and Evan Coons of Simpsonville; sisters, Nora Ayers and Leila Edwins of Orangeburg, Marie Gleavy of Andover, MA; and brother, Hampton (Minnie) Edwins of St. Helena Island; a special niece, Pam Weaver Knight of Chapin; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday, May 29, 2010, at Thompson Funeral Home, Inc., in Orangeburg. At other times, friends may call at the home, 1850 Cherrywoods St., Orangeburg, and at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to St. Andrews United Methodist Church or the Weaver/Terry Cancer Foundation, c/o St. Andrews United Methodist Church, 1980 Columbia Road, Orangeburg, SC 29115.
