Athalene Mole Obituary

Athalene Mole HAMPTON Mrs. Athalene Bishop Mole, 80, of Co-Op Road East, Hampton, entered into eternal rest Tuesday, February 18, 2014, in Palmetto Health Richland. She was the wife of the late Clyde Roland Mole, to whom she was married 44 years. Funeral service will be conducted 3 o'clock Saturday, February 22, 2014, at The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Varnville. Interment will follow in Hampton Cemetery. Born August 23, 1933, in Brunson, she was a daughter of the late Lloyd Fulton Bishop and Virgie Barnes Bishop. She was a hospital administrator at Hampton Medical Center, from which she retired after 42 years of service. She was a member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church. She was a beloved mother who loved working with her flowers, gardening, oil painting, and sewing. Surviving are: her children, Marsha Mole Sober and her husband, Douglas J. Sober, of Collierville, Tennessee, Craig Roland Mole and his wife, Lois Park Mole, of Columbia, and Maria Mole Smith and her husband, Douglas N. Smith, of Easley; grandchildren, Wesley Adam Smith and Katherine E. Sober; sisters, Carolyn B. Long of Fairfax, Virginia, Bonnie B. Belger of Lugoff, and Grace B. Tuten of Furman; sisters-in-law, Shirley M. Altman and her husband, Don, of Hampton, and Sylvia M. Freeman and her husband, Wade, of Hampton; and brother-in-law, Don Mole and his wife, Sara, of Orangeburg. She was preceded in death by a sister, Muriel B. Mixson. Maria and Craig,

I love you guys so much and am so sorry to hear of your mother's passing. I still have such fond memories of her when we all got together the weekend of Maria's wedding. She was a caring and kind woman with a generous spirit who will be missed by all who knew her.
