Carl Alvin Duncan WEST COLUMBIA - Funeral service for Carl Alvin Duncan, 90, will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, November 11, 2012, in the Chapel of Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington, officiated by Pastor Brad Davis. Interment will follow in Celestial Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 2 until 3 pm prior to service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to West Columbia Pentecostal Holiness Church. Mr. Duncan passed away Wednesday, November 7, 2012. Born in Greenville, SC, he was a son of the late Carl Robert Duncan and Fannie Ethel Smith Duncan. He was married for 66 years to the late Sarah Morgan Duncan. He was retired from Pet Dairy after 38 years of service. Mr. Duncan was an avid golfer and follower of the Atlanta Braves; an antique knife collector and was a Peddler at the flea market. Survivors include: daughters, Debra D. Steele (Mickey) of West Columbia and Cynthia D. Parfitt (Vaughn) of Anderson son, Donald A. Duncan of West Columbia; sisters, Joan McMakin (Larry) of Greer and Lillie Hayes and Jerry Garrett of Taylors; brother, James Duncan (Mildred) of Greenville; and his grandson, Morgan McCarthy Parfitt of The Citadel, Charleston, SC.
