Carl A. Ouzts GREENWOOD - Carl Alton Ouzts, 86, of Maitland, FL, went home to meet his Lord on Monday February 24, 2014. He was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Brantley (Janie) Ouzts of Greenwood County, SC, and is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Mary Irene Henderson Ouzts of Maitland, FL. He is also survived by his three children; Barney Alton Ouzts of McCormick, SC, Shirley Ouzts Hill (Billy) of St. Cloud, FL, and Peggy Ouzts Galphin of Ninety Six and Greenwood, SC. Mr. Ouzts was blessed with five grandchildren, Shannon Hill Kitchen (Deeb Paul) of Fort Meyers, FL, Christen Hill Haaland (Aaron) of Winter Park, FL, the late Jordan Allen Galphin of Ninety Six, SC, Carla Camak Galphin of Ninety Six, SC, and Maitland, FL, and Emily Jane Galphin, of Ninety Six and Greenwood, SC. He also had two great-granddaughters; Sariya Deeb Kitchen of Fort Meyers, FL, and Alison Blaire Haaland of Winter Park, FL. Carl is also survived by a brother, Cecil Ouzts (Sadie Mae) of Plant City, FL, and two sisters, Frankie Ouzts Sharpe (Leonard) of Gilbert, SC, and Miriam Ouzts Raybourn Butler (Huey), of Columbia, MS. He was predeceased by five siblings: Julian Ouzts, Alleene Ouzts McCormack, Monty Ouzts, Edward Ouzts and Daisy Ouzts Cuatt; also, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Funeral service will be at 4:00 p.m. Thursday, March 6, 2014, at McCormick Baptist Church in McCormick, SC. Burial will follow in Overbrook Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Harley Funeral Home, Greenwood, on Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. Harley Funeral Home and Crematory, Greenwood, SC (www.harleyfuneralhome.com) is in charge of arrangements.
