Carlos and I used to play together when we were little so when I heard he died I was shocked that someone my age was gone so soon. It is a tradegy and he will be missed. I don't want to remember him as a tradegy but as a good friend who I grew up with at Lamplighter Apartments and a 2008 Classmate. Rest in Peace Carlos.

Carlos was not only a friend to me, he was also a brother. He was a nice and caring person. I could always find comfort in him whenever I needed someone to talk to. There is not a day that goes by that I don't think of him and the fun times that we shared. He will ALWAYS hold a special place in my heart. Carlos I love you and I miss you. I miss Carlos soooooooo much! He was one of my closest friends and my cousin, and this is still unbelieveable to me... it just seems like I ain't seem him in a while but we goN out soon, to Waffle House or probably just chillN at Aaron house, or maybe I'll see him at the football game. I really don't know where to start.... First I wanna say that I love "Jay". Jay was the type of fellow to say @ school ain't nobody gone mess with my cousin and I be like Jay I got me.... He came to my apartment once I went off to college laid in my bed and ate my last reese cups and I told he you better be glad you my cousin..... Jay used use to visit me every week and I was devasted about his death I couldn't believe but I feel much better that I know he is in a better place. My prayers go out to the Roberts And Coleman Family my God continue to bless you.

I want you to know that you and your family are in my prayers. I know there aren't any words I can say to comfort you right now, and only the strength of GOD will see you through. One thing I do know from experience is that people grieve differently (some for a short time, and some longer), but one thing I do know is that the Lord will never leave you, nor forsake you. We truly miss Jay coming through that door on Sunday mornings to church. But, we know that he is smiling down on you saying "Daddy you raised me well". My Dear Carlos and Family,
Words are so inadequate to express the pain that I feel over the loss of Jay. Jay was such a joy to be around. He warmed my heart and always brought a smile to my face. He was our big baby and we all loved him unconditionally. I know that the Lord has a plan, and as time moves on we will be able to understand it by and by. Carlos, I know that you were the best father you could be to Jay and he loved you dearly. Rest assured that he is resting and the Lord is taking care of him. I say thank you for sharing Jay with me for 18 years, from the time he was born, he has always been a part of my life. and I will miss him.

The family is having a hard time, you were snatch away from us…..Jay I love you with all the fiber of my being... I told you I love you and I showed you as well. Thank you for being not only my nephew but also my son. I enjoyed every minute of our time together, from the time taking care of you as a baby, the fun we had on the driving trips to California and all the states we stop by and learned something new and firsthand. The wonderful time in the kid’s area of Circus Circles in Las Vega, going back to campus with me and dancing the whole time with all the girls at the dance. Being in my wedding and coming up to me and saying”Auntie I never rode in a Limo before “of course you rode in the limo with me to the reception. We had a wonderful time in Florida, especially the pool; I can go on and on. Jay, I need you to watch over ALL OF US, and I know you know how much your family and father love you. He only wanted the best for you; give him a kiss and a hug every night until he sees you again. It is very hard, we are going to miss you Jay but I know you are in a better place now; you are with God setting at the right side of his garment. I thank God for allowing you to come into our lives. love U, Auntie!

I am truly deeply sorry for the sudden and shocking loss of Jay. It was an event that when I first heard about it, I was just in utter shock and disbelief. It seemed like yesterday that the class of 2008...well we, were "released" into such a surreal world. We now quickly find ourselves questioning God asking him "Why did you take him away from us? He was so young...", but we just have to trust his judgement because beyond this world, there is a place called Heaven. It's a much better place to live than this world down here.
