I was truly saddened to hear about the loss of Dr Shipley. He was a good listener, very caring, yet matter of fact. He first delivered my daughter who is about to turn 18 this month. I went to him after having lost a baby in the third trimester. He always took appropriate action. A couple of years ago he also delivered my niece's daughter, we walked her into the hospital at 5:30am not realizing the danger she was in. Upon examination, they found that she was having issues that would have definitely put the baby in danger. Dr Shipley appeared at 6:00 am out of nowhere to deliver a healthy baby. May he rest in peace and always be well remembered!

My deepest sympathy to the Shipley family. Dr Shipley was a wonderful person, physician and teacher. He will be deeply missed by so many of us who appreciated his compassion as our doctor but also respected him as an excellent surgeon.

Dr. Shipley went to medical school with my dad and was the 1st person that my dad called for advice on which tests I should have done after I had a miscarriage. Dr. Shipley knew exactly which ones to do and we found a disorder that he knew how to treat. He met with my husband and me at 8am on a Sunday morning for over an hour patiently and kindly answering all of my many questions and kept in email contact with me whenever I had a concern or question. God absolutely brought him into our lives and we are forever grateful. My beautiful 2 year old son is proof.

Condolences to the Shipley family. I performed my very first delivery as a medical student with Dr. Shipley, he saved my life when I got septic two weeks after the birth of my son from a piece of retained placenta, and he delivered my daughter less than two years later. He was such a great man and teacher, and I will forever be grateful to him.

I worked with Dr. Shipley in the operating room and labor and delivery as a nurse anesthetist. You always felt his expertise and caring heart. I knew with him as my surgeon, I had nothing to fear. He was humble and always respectful of the operating room team. You were a rock....and you will be missed.

Our condolences to Kaye and the family as Fred has gone to be with the Lord. Fred delivered 2 of our babies, both high risk and 1 on his birthday.
He was one of the most knowledgeable, caring physicians we knew. We just know he's up in heaven playing with those babies.
God's Peace to his family and all the lives he has touched.

What a great doc to work with, he respected the nursing profession and the you knew if you took good care of his patients, he would appreciate it and would let you know you did well, on the other hand if you did not follow his orders you would also know how he felt about that. I was always on his good side. He volunteered to present at local educational offerings for nurses and did so many times when I was at Richland. For those of you who knew Mackey Firetag, you know she was there to greet him. when he entered heaven. May God Bless his family and give peace to all who mourn him.
