Columbia, South Carolina - Homegoing Service for Reverend Clorine Sherman Redmond will be held on Saturday, August 30, 2025, 11:00 AM at Bostick-Tompkins Funeral Home. Public Visitation is Friday from 2-5:00 PM at the Funeral Home, Family Visitation is one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Reverend Redmond died on August 24, 2025. Born in Taylors, SC, she was the daughter of the late Rev. A. B., Sr. and Elizabeth Carter Sherman; and the widow of the late Rev. Grant Redmond. She was licensed to preach in 1984 at New Hope Baptist Church by her late husband, and a member of the Minister's Wives and Widows of South Carolina. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Jacqueline J. Floyd. Surviving are her children, Angela G. Wynter (Gary), Rev. Dr. Monica D. Redmond, Paulette C. Redmond, and Grant E. Redmond Jr. (Brooke); grandchildren, Lionel (Keshia), Andrick (Santana), Harold (Kendra), Matthew, Janice (Donald), and Jada; a host of great-grandchildren; siblings, Mary, Sadie, Beatrice, Geneva, Jimmy and Harry. Yesterday
We met Rev. Grant Redmond and his lovely wife Rev. Clorine Redmond in July 1978 and became close friends every sense. I´m so thankful that God enabled us to cross paths and become as close as family. I am proud that our church gave her the opportunity to preach her last sermon. We are going to miss Clorine. Thank God for the memories.
