Daniel Wallace Werts ELLOREE - Daniel Wallace Werts, 91, of Elloree passed away on Sunday, October 14, 2018. He was born on June 11, 1927 in Newberry County to the late Middleton and Julia Koon Werts. In addition to his parents, Wallace was preceded in death by his first wife, Madilyn Jackson Werts and three brothers and two sisters. Wallace retired from Allied Chemical Corporation. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, square dancing and loved breakfast at Hardee's with friends. Wallace was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran in Pomaria but also attended First Baptist of Elloree for many years. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Dorothy Werts of Elloree; children, Dana (Donna) Werts, Terry Werts, Linda (Robert) Dunn; step children, Cathy (Terrell) Wiles and Kirby (Renee) Jackson; nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at First Baptist of Elloree with Rev. Dr. Charles Hook officiating. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service at the church. Funeral services in Wallace's hometown will be held 3 p.m. Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Pomaria with Rev. Brent Nichols. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow in Newberry Memorial Gardens, Newberry, SC. Memorial contributions may be made to The Building Fund at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 2496 SC Highway 773, Pomaria, SC 29126 or First Baptist Church of Elloree, 6208 Old #6 Highway, Elloree, SC 29047 or the charity of your choice.
