Darrell Niles Obituary
Darrell was born April 23, 1992, in Columbia, SC. He was a student at Keenan High School and a member of the State Champion Varsity Basketball Team. Darrell was also in the Upward Bound Program.
Surviving are his parents, Deatra Niles and Darrell Bouknight; brother, Dominique Niles; grandparents, Thomas (Jettie) Niles, Nathaniel Wilson and Frances Bouknight; uncles, Thomas (LaShawn) Niles Jr. and Chrishawn Glover; aunts, Aldora and Camisha Niles; special friend, Kalifa Lewis; a host of other loving relatives and friends.

To the Niles Family
I did not know Darrell, but being a mother myself my heart is weeping for you, my son is 19 and away in college, I just had to pick up the phone and tell him how much I love him. I'm praying god gives you strength, and comfort you during this time of sorrow.
I cannot say I know how you feel, but take comfort in knowing there are many people praying for you. I'm a stranger to you, but I weep with you.

Jettie, Detra and the entire family,
We are at a loss for words during this very sad time. The question, Why? will remain until we see the Father face to face. Until that time, it is imperative to keep looking up towards the hills from which cometh our help. I have heard only good things about your son and grandson. "Hey Boo Boo and Yogi too" that was my greeting to him everyday as he walked by on his way to class. He was one of the sweetest young men around the school. Warm smile, beautiful spirit. I pray for comfort for all of us. It has been a very hard week but I take comfort in knowing that he is resting in the arms of the Father, and he is at peace. We will miss him, but one day we all will see him again. My prayers for ALL that knew and loved this wonderful young man. May the God of mercy heal all of our hearts from this deep hurt that we feel. May the God of grace, grant us all strength as we struggle to understand. May the God of Love, grant us all peace to accept what is. P. James

Darrell was a really good kid who stood out from being like every one else. He will for sure be in the starting line up guard on God's team. My deepest sympathy to his parents and brother. Know that he did leave his mark on this earth. D.B.
