Hartsville, South Carolina - It is with deep sorrow that Dr. Pickens Kinard "Ken" Moyd, Jr. announces the death of his beloved wife, Mrs. Diane Andress Moyd, 68.
Mrs. Moyd entered into rest on Sunday, August 4, 2024. The Directors of Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home & Crematory are caring for the family.
The family will privately honor her life. In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made in her honor to Hartsville Interfaith Ministries, 210 South Second Street, Hartsville, SC 29550.
Mrs. Moyd was born on September 9, 1955, in Orange, NJ. She was the daughter of the late Thomas Watts Andress and the late Ninette Prezioso Andress. The family moved to Charlotte, NC, where Diane grew up. She went to South Mecklenburg High School, then attended Clemson University and graduated in 1978. She then obtained a degree in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of South Carolina and took a job in Spartanburg, SC, at the Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. There, she met her husband, Ken. They were married in 1993 and moved to Hartsville, SC.
She loved Clemson, her church, and singing -- anytime, anywhere, and for anyone. She also loved her nieces and nephews intensely and looked forward to all family gatherings.
She is survived by her loving husband, Dr. Pickens Kinard "Ken" Moyd, Jr. of Hartsville, SC; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, John (Suzy) Moyd of Hartsville, SC, and David (Lee) Moyd of Hartsville, SC, as well as her loving nieces, nephews, and many cousins.
