Don T. Wall GILBERT Funeral service for Don T. Wall, 72, of Gilbert, will be held at 5 p.m. Thursday, June 20, 2013 at Thompson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel. Burial will follow in Lybrand Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 3- 5 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home and after the service at the home of Sherrie Moorehous. Mr. Wall beloved husband of Dorothy Reynolds Wall passed away on Sunday, June 16, 2013. Born in Columbia, he was the son of the late Troy Donald Wall and Doris Moore Williams Wall. He was a member of Springdale Baptist Church and retired from The State newspaper after 30 years of employment, where he worked as a Color Coordinator and was the first person to put color in The State newspaper. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, served on the USS Fearless, Minesweeper. A very caring, loving, carefree and a very patient man, always had a great sense of humor, great integrity, and always a loved life. He was a wonderful and loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend; he will be dearly missed by many. Surviving in addition to his wife, Dorothy of Gilbert; daughters, Doris L Wall (Michele) of West Columbia and Sherrie W. Moorehous (Gary) of Lexington; grandchildren, Troy C. Wall (Squirt Box as Don would call him) and Gary P. Moorehous Jr. (G.P. as Don would call him); great-grandchildren, Trenton and Autumn Strickland; half-sisters and half-brother, Linda Wall Ruff of Columbia, Max Wall (Julie) of Columbia, Laura Wall of Charleston, Lisa Wall Hibdon (Robert) of Charleston. He was preceded in death by his grandmother who raised and adopted him, Minnie Williams Moore Dyches; half-brother, Danny Wall.
