Edwin Robert Hudson

Edwin Robert Hudson COLUMBIA - Edwin Robert Hudson, M.D., was born in Oak Ridge, Tenn., October 9, 1951, and died of trauma sustained in a bicycling accident in Columbia, S.C. on June 11, 2013. He was preceded in death by parents Ed D. Hudson and Marjory Arends Hudson. He is survived and missed by ex-wife and best friend, E. Jayne Moffatt, M.D., of Columbia, S.C.; sister, Patricia Hudson and her husband, Sam Stapleton, of Knoxville, Tenn., and beloved nieces Elizabeth Stapleton, of Durham, N.C., and Erin Stapleton, of Knoxville; and uncle and aunt William and Jean Arends of Melvin, Ill. He attended the University of Tennessee where he earned a B.S. in Electrical Engineering, a B.A. in Mathematics, a B.S. in Chemistry and an M.S. in Electrical Engineering. He completed doctoral course work in Biomedical Engineering at the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill before earning an M.D. at East Tennessee State University. He completed his internship in Internal Medicine at ETSU and his Radiology residency at the University of Vermont, followed by fellowships in Interventional and Vascular Radiology at Duke University Medical Center, Neuroradiology at Duke, and Neurointerventional Radiology at George Washington University. He resided in Columbia, S.C., for fifteen years and was on staff at Palmetto Richland Hospital from 1997-2006 and at Lexington Medical Center from 2006 until the time of his death.
