Ernest Blizzard Obituary

LUGOFF - Funeral services for Ernest Eugene Blizzard, 69, will be held Friday, October 24, 2008, at 2:00 p.m. at Concord Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Rev. David Sturgeon will officiate. The family will receive friends Thursday, October 23, 2008, from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Kornegay Funeral Home, Lugoff Elgin Chapel.

Mr. Blizzard died Tuesday, October 21, 2008. He was born January 21, 1939, in Camden, the son of the late Rayford and Alma Jackson Blizzard. Mr. Blizzard lived all 69 years on a small farm in Lugoff, SC. He had retired from Kline Iron & Steel after 42 years. Mr. Blizzard was a member of Concord Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife of 47 years, Pauline Richardson Blizzard; daughter, Melissa Blizzard; sons, Jimmy Blizzard and Howard Blizzard; grandchildren, Ashleigh Langley, Heather Blizzard, Bradley Blizzard, Kelsey Graham, Alice (Tootie) Blizzard, Emily Graham and Chad Blizzard; brother, Wilbert Blizzard of Lugoff; sisters, Mildred Lilley, Ida Himes and Nancy Jeffers; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, McNeil Blizzard.

Serving as active pallbearers are Robert Lee, Wayne Jeffers, Joe Martin, Tally Peake, Sammy Jones, Steve Kirkland, Curtis Wright and Robin Blizzard. Honorary pallbearers are J.W. Blizzard Norman Lilley and Carl Campbell.

Kornegay Funeral Home, Lugoff-Elgin Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
