Eunice Nelums Adams Obituary

Columbia, South Carolina - Dr. Eunice Edna Nelums Adams transitioned on Saturday October 28, 2023, at NHC Healthcare in Columbia, South Carolina. Born in Irmo, South Carolina, she was the daughter of the late John Nelums and Jessie Reeves Nelums.
Dr. Adams graduated from Harbison High School (Irmo, SC) in the Class of 1949. She earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree at Allen University (Columbia, SC,) a Master's Degree from Carnegie Mellon University (Pittsburgh, PA) and a Doctoral Degree from Peabody College (Nashville, Tennessee.) She was a member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Dr. Adams was an educator for over 31 at Keenan High School. After retiring, she relocated to Bloomington, IN. She joined The Bethel AME Church. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 am, Monday, November 6,2023, at Palmer Memorial Chapel, Columbia, SC, with Interment to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park. The AKA Ivy Beyond the Wall will also be held on Monday, November 6, 2023, at 10:00 am.

Mrs. Adams was an amazing woman and an inspiration to both me and my daughter. She was so proud when Morgan became a member of her sorority. And Mr. Adams was so proud of his wife, bragging on her all of the time. I miss helping her teach Sunday school and children's church at Bethel. I hope she can rest now and that she is reunited with her husband and children.
