Columbia, South Carolina - Gail Kittrell, 80, died Sunday, December 27, 2020. Born in Greenville, SC, she was a daughter of the late Rev. Emory Knox Anderson and Mary Helen McElrath Anderson. She worked as school secretary for E.L. Wright Middle School and retired after 24 years. Gail was a member of Greater Columbia WPO of which she enjoyed her group of traveling "Huzzies". She was a church organist at Jackson Creek Baptist Church, Dentsville Baptist Church, and Bayview Baptist Church for many years. Gail was a member of Shandon Baptist Church.
Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Danny A. and Amy H. Kittrell of Columbia, SC; daughter and son-in-law, Kay and Gregg A. Martin of Blythewood, SC; sister and brother-in-law, JoAnn and Ronnie Leopard of Woodstock, GA; five grandchildren, Bradley Kittrell (Jordanne), Andrew Kittrell, Patrick Kittrell, Chase Martin, and Caroline Martin; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Edward Daniel Kittrell; brother, Dennis Anderson (Barbara); and sister-in-law, Emma Jean Gallagher.
Due to COVID restrictions, a funeral service limited to family and close friends, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at Dunbar Funeral Home, Northeast Chapel, with burial in Greenhaven Memorial Gardens. There will also be a livestream of the service on Dunbar Funeral Home – Northeast's Facebook page: www.facebook.com/DunbarNortheast The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
