George Meetze Obituary

George C. Meetze GASTON - Funeral service for George C. Meetze will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 26, 2013, at First Baptist Church of Gaston. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The casket will be placed in the church at 10:00 a.m. George Chalmus Meetze, of Gaston, was born July 9, 1939, a son of Harles Meetze and Mildred Hutto. He went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, November 24, 2013. He had retired as the owner of Maranatha Transport. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Gaston and was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Pound Meetze, his children, Lisa (Dewayne) Braziel of Columbia, Travis (Lori) Meetze of Irmo, Lauren (Chris) LaVenia of Lexington, Erin (Graham) Houghten of West Columbia, 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He is also survived by brother, Tillman Meetze, and sisters, Joan Tenney, Sara Owens and Edna Drawdy. Culler-McAlhany Funeral Home in North (www.mcalhanyfuneralhome.com) is in charge of arrangements.
