Grey Carlisle Obituary

LYMAN - Grey Ellisor Carlisle, 91, passed away January 5, 2012, at Ashlan Village.

A native of Newberry, he was born to the late Thomas Benard and Gertrude Stack Carlisle and was one of 12 children. Mr. Carlisle was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Greer, where he was a member of the Jim Talbert's Sunday School Class and had retired from Lyman Printing and Finishing after 50 years of service. He enjoyed working in his garden and being with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was married to the late Lucy Johnson Carlisle of Kinards, South Carolina.

Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, David and Joan Carlisle of Lyman, and Thomas and Anne Carlisle of Lexington; four grandchildren, Matthew, C.J., Michael and Ashley Carlisle; 12 great-grandchildren, one sister, two half-brothers and one sister-in-law.

Mr. Carlisle was predeceased by one grandson, Greyson Carlisle.

Funeral service will be held 4:00 p.m. Saturday First Presbyterian Church, Greer. Burial will follow in Wood Memorial Park.

Visitation will be held 3:00-4:00 p.m. Saturday at the church.
